La Academia de Artes y
Ciencias Cinematográficas de Hollywood ha dado a conocer los nombres de los
recipientes del Premio Honorifico a entregar el 12 de Noviembre Próximo: el
actor Donald Sutherland, la directora belga Agnès Varda, el guionista
y director Charles Burnett y el director de fotografía Owen Roizman.
Burnett es un realizador de
cine independiente, el escribió, dirigió, produjo y fotografió, hasta editó su
primer film “Killer of Sheep” (1977).
Su filmografía incluye “My Brother’s
Wedding”, “To Sleep with Anger”, “The Glass Shield”, “Namibia: The Struggle for
Liberation.”
Roizman ha recibido cinco
candidaturas al Oscar por “The French
Connection” (1971), “The Exorcist” (1973), “Network” (1976), “Tootsie” (1982)
y “Wyatt Earp” (1994).
Sutherland cuenta con más de
100 filmes en su currículo que incluye: “The
Dirty Dozen” (1967), “M*A*S*H”, “Klute”, “Don’t Look Now”, “The Day of the
Locust”, “1900”, “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”, “Ordinary People”, “Cold
Mountain”, “The Italian Job”, “Pride & Prejudice” y “The Hunger Games”.
Varda por su parte tiene en su
filmografía: “Cleo from 5 to 7”, “Le
Bonheur”, “One Sings, the Other Doesn’t”, “Vagabond”, “Jacquot”, “The Gleaners
and I” y recientemente “Faces Places”.
La Entrega se producirá el próximo
11 de Noviembre en el Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center.
