TORONTO 2014: Lista de Films a presentarse este año.

 

La organización del festival internacional de cine de Toronto (TIFF) ha anunciado las primeras películas que oficialmente se exhibirán en el transcurro de su 39º edición que transcurrirá entre el 4 y el 14 de septiembre.

Este primer bloque anunciado queda compuesto por más de cincuenta largometrajes y entre ellos destacan las últimas propuestas de cineastas consagrados como Jason Reitman, Bennett Miller, Noah Baumbach, Susanne Bier, Abel Ferrara, Jean-Marc Vallée, Zhang Yimou, Lone Scherfig, François Ozon, Isabel Coixet o Liv Ullmann. También se exhibirán la gran ganadora en el pasado festival de Sundance, 'Whiplash', de Damien Chazelle, o las películas merecedoras de los galardones de interpretación en Cannes ('Mr. Turner', de Mike Leigh, y 'Maps to the Stars', de David Cronenberg). También se proyectará por primera vez títulos muy esperados como "The Imitation Game", "The Theory of Everything" o "Still Alice".

La organización no ha comunicado la película que abrirá el festival este año pero sí la que lo clausurará :  "A Little Chaos", de Alan Rickman, protagonizada por Kate Winslet, Alan Rickman y Stanley Tucci. “Es un gran privilegio para A Little Chaos  tener su Premiere mundial en Toronto, y que le hayan otorgado la gala de clausura del festival, pero también es un honor personal,” comenta Rickman. “He rodado en la ciudad, he venido de visita a menudo, y algunos de mis amigos más íntimos viven aquí. Será como volver a casa.” “A Little Chaos  es la película perfecta para la noche de clausura: transporta a la audiencia a otra época, a otro lugar, lleno de belleza, complejidad, rivalidad, política y romance,” dijo Cameron Bailey, director artístico del festival internacional de cine de Toronto. “La película de Alan Rickman avivará al público conforme nuestro festival llegue a su fin.”

Recordemos que el año pasado la ganadora del premio del público (máximo galardón al que pueden aspirar las películas en este festival) fue "12 Years a Slave" que, meses más tarde, conseguiría hasta tres estatuillas doradas, incluida la de Mejor Película.
